The laboratories of Cell Biology, Synthesis and Analytic Organic Chemistry, the Research Groups of NeuroEndocrinology, Neuroscience, Biophysics, Nutrition/Diabetes and the clinical teams in Cardiology, Neurosurgery, Surgery for Organ Transplant, ENT are well connected all over the medical world. In all Medical Institutes of the Ministry of Health and Family, located in Bucharest the members of our university staff are the coordinators of the scientific activity. The new and modern Carol Davila Publishing House has already edited specialized monographs as well as an international periodic journal "The Journal of Molecular and Cellular Medicine". The University Library has more than 700,000 volumes and also rare old medical books and manuscripts. A local area network (LAN) connects the library with the departments of the School of Medicine and ensures WAN communication trough Internet.

From the topics of biomedical research, both theoretical and applied, in which the professors and researchers of our university have published original results, the following could be mentioned:

·     Cellular mechanism of myocardial and cerebral ischemia.

·     Pineal peptides and  pituitary hormones in relation to brain ontogeny, blood brain barrier and pituitary tumors

·     Vascular Neurosurgery

·  Experimental Diabetes Mellitus

·    Epidemiology of Cardiovascular Disease;   Cardiac implications in children with AIDS

·  Liver, kidney and heart transplant

·     Early diagnosis of malignant lymphproliferations.

·     In vitro fertilization and embryo transfer in the treatment of sterility.

·     Assessment of pollution in food, in various areas in Romania.

·     Drug action / influence on cell membranes.
